Trail Run Routes

21km Trail Run
756m elevation
Sharing the 10km route to WP1, the 21km then splits off to run parallel to the main Zuurberg road up to WP2 — the highest point on the run. From there, it joins the Zuurberg Pass for the descent to “the cutting,” rejoining the 10km route for the run home past Africamps.

10km Trail Run
417m elevation
This route climbs north-west along one of the Zuurberg’s most scenic ridges. At 3.8km you pass WP1, then follow the Camp Figtree access road before a steep, technical descent. The route returns past the Africamps tents to the finish.

6km Trail Run
106m elevation
Heading south-west, this route drops steadily for the first half before turning uphill along an old riverbed. The finish is a fast, flowing stretch of singletrack past Africamps.
Mountain Bike Routes

40km MTB
1007m elevation
The Hayterdale Classic’s feature race, built for riders who want a taste of the Great Zuurberg Trek. It starts with a hard climb straight up the Zuurberg Pass, topping out near the Zuurberg Hotel, followed by one of the longest descents of the day running parallel to the pass. The route then joins the 12km and 20km courses through the flatlands before all three head home past Africamps.

20km MTB
394m elevation
Short in distance, big on challenge. The route climbs the Zuurberg Pass before turning onto “Zoll’s Rollercoaster.” After the descent, it joins the 10km route through the flatlands before climbing back up to the Hayterdale finish.

12km MTB
223m elevation
A scenic, family-friendly loop suited to newcomers and old hands alike. From Hayterdale, the route heads south along the main Zuurberg road before turning onto the flatlands’ jeep track, then loops back on a mix of single and double track with gentle gradients and open views across the Zuurberg landscape.
